Cable glands

A cable gland is used wherever an electrical cable needs to be tightened and sealed. Cable glands can be made in various materials, from polyamide to stainless steel to nickel-plated brass. They can offer several levels of protection against liquids and foreign objects. The size of the cable glands can vary widely depending on the diameter of the cable.

A cable gland generally consists of a tightening nut, a gasket, a threaded body, sealing rubber, and a lock nut. It simultaneously performs several related functions: it tightens and holds cables, seals their entry, and protects them against external agents such as dust and water.
Metallic or nylon cable glands for electrical installations provide excellent tensile strength and resistance to all kinds of stresses.
They provide up to IP66/IP67/IP68 protection and comply with EN 50262 european standards and IEC/ EN 60079-0,7,15,31.
In addition, all our cable glands meet the requirements of IEC/ EN 62444 Cable glands for electrical installations. The operating temperature ranges from -40°C to +105°C.

Our simply different cable glands

Our fittings can become cable glands by replacing the sealing rubber and washer instead of the ferrule and ring. A Euro 2000’s fitting can easily become a cable gland in male, female, swivel, variable angle or a cap fitting for connectors with ISO 228 – GAS cylindrical, DIN 40430 – PG, ISO 965 – METRIC, ANSI/ASME B1.20.1 – NPT and ISO 7/1 – GAS tapered threads.
With the certification of cable glands in accordance with IEC / EN 60079 -0,7,15,31 standards, we expanded our product range with a series of single-tight cable glands for single cable, single-tight cable glands for armored cable, and double-tight cable glands for armored cable and cable glands with threaded head.

Different types of cable glands depending on the material

There are different types of electrical cable glands according to their material.

Metal cable glands

Metal cable glands are made of brass with a fixed male thread with mechanical locking and provide excellent tensile strength and resistance to all kinds of stresses. The metal cable gland’s nut, body, and washer are made of nickel-plated brass, and the sealing rubber in thermosetting elastomer. Euro 2000’s metal cable glands provide IP66/IP67/IP68 (0.5bar, 30 min) protection. They are available in M ISO 228 – GAS cylindrical, DIN 40430 – PG, ISO 965 – METRIC, ANSI/ASME B1.20.1 – NPT and ISO 7/1 – GAS conical threads. Our product range also includes IECEx/ATEx certified metal cable glands.

Plastic Cable Glands

The EUSTOP series cable glands made of PA6-VO nylon, with a neoprene gasket and O-ring on the fixing thread, provide IP68 – 5 bar protection. They are available in METRIC ISO R68 thread and PG thread DIN 40430 according to EN 50262 European standards.
Plastic cable glands are resistant to fluids in all applications. They are easy to assemble and provide excellent tensile strengths and a wide range of full tightening options thanks to blades that provide uniform pressure around the cable.
